Monica McDonald Purkis is a visual artist specialising in portraiture.

She was born in Trinidad West Indies and came to England to go to Maidstone Art College where she qualified with a Degree in Fine Art before going into teaching. Now retired she is able to give time and attention to her painting. She has a particular interest in the human form and face.

Her work was last shown in an exhibition at the Fine Foundation Gallery at Durlston Castle 2015
